Why Use a WiFi QR Code?
Sharing your WiFi password is tedious. You have to spell it out, write it down, or text it. A WiFi QR code eliminates all that โ guests simply scan with their phone camera and they're connected.

How WiFi QR Codes Work
WiFi QR codes use a special format that phones recognize automatically. When scanned, the phone reads the network name, password, and security type, then prompts the user to connect โ no typing required.
The format looks like this: WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;;
Compatibility
- iPhone (iOS 11+) โ Scan with the built-in Camera app
- Android (10+) โ Scan with Camera or Google Lens
- Older devices โ May need a QR scanner app
Tips for Display
- Print at least 2" x 2" for easy scanning
- Frame it or laminate it for durability
- Add text like "Scan to Connect to WiFi"
- Place at eye level in high-traffic areas
- For businesses, include on menus and table tents
Security Note
Your WiFi password is encoded in the QR code, so anyone who scans it can see the password. This is fine for guest networks but don't use it for sensitive networks you want to restrict. Consider setting up a separate guest network for public QR codes.
